The Valle d’Intelvi, between Argegno on Lake Como and Osteno on Lake Lugano, is an open sunny valley with gentle slopes that descend towards these two lakes. It has historically always been a tourist destination, where you can fully experience all that is offered by Lake Como, Lake Lugano, the Val d’Intelvi, and the western Monti Lariani.
The climate of the Val d’Intelvi is not a humid one, therefore, even during warmer weather, you can sleep soundly without the need for air conditioners.
Ideal for families, couples, travel, sports, or relaxation. The Campeggio ai Colli Fioriti camping facilities, with 30,000 square meters of greenery, is waiting to welcome you!
The location and formation of the valley favors spectacular views from the main highlands, such as:
The overlook of Lanzo – the “Balcony of Italy” – and Pigra, must be seen.
MonteGeneroso (1701 meters) and MonteSighignola (1302 meters), where you can enjoy the panorama over Lake Lugano, with views of Lake Maggiore, Lake Varese, Monte Rosa, and the Matterhorn.
Pizzo della Croce (1491 meters), Sasso Gordona (1410 meters), and Monte di Lenno (1589 meters) offer various scenic views of Lake Como.
MonteGalbiga (1698 meters) offers a 360° panorama of the two lakes and a hint of the “Linea Cadorna”, with remains of fortifications from World War I.
On Monte di Tremezzo (1700 meters ) and Monte Crocione Menaggio (1641meters), you can enjoy other beautiful views over the Lario.
Around the valley, you can visit several churches with remarkable stucco works by the Comacine Masters, as well as picturesque villages.
A few kilometers away are the Villa del Balbianello, heritage property of the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano), Villa Carlotta, and the routes of the chapels of the Sacro Monte di Ossuccio, the latter being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Paolo and Stefano will be glad to provide you with all the information and details you need to discover the most beautiful places in the area.
